Systems for extraction

Solvent extraction

Solvent extraction is critical to proper sample preparation and ultimately the correct analysis of analyte sets. Pesticides, PFAS, plastics additives, dioxins, cannabinoids, mycotoxins, fat, and SVOCs all must be properly extracted from their respective samples before being analyzed.

Also, additional considerations must be made to accommodate the different needs of extraction laboratories. We have a variety of instruments to meet different laboratory needs based on the solvent extraction technique needed, solvent requirements, throughput, sample size, temperature range, and filtration needs..

PFAS Extraction

PFAS Extraction is an area of substantial growth, as these so-called “forever chemicals” have been found in virtually everything we use and have been shown to be determinantal to human health. Knowledge of where and how much is critical to understanding how to best mitigate the impact of PFAS on our daily lives.
CEM designed two systems to meet this very specific growing need: EDGE PFAS and MARS 6 PFAS Extraction. Both systems have been demonstrated to be PFAS-free and efficient at the extraction of PFAS compounds from various matrices. The EDGE provides an automated sequential option that automatically adds solvent and removes the extract for further analysis while the MARS processes up to 40 samples in a single batch, offering a high-throughput solution.
